HABAŞ Begins Series Production of Commercial Vehicles at Its Manisa Plant
MANISA, Türkiye – Turkish industrial group HABAŞ has officially entered series production of commercial vehicles at its manufacturing facility in Manisa, marking a significant milestone in the company's expansion into the automotive industry. The first buses produced at the plant have already entered passenger service in Istanbul, demonstrating the company's transition from product development to full-scale manufacturing.

The investment represents one of Türkiye's most ambitious new commercial vehicle manufacturing projects and reinforces the country's position as a major production hub for buses and trucks serving both domestic and international markets.
From Industrial Manufacturing to Commercial Vehicles
Founded in 1956, HABAŞ has built its reputation in industrial gases, steel production and energy. In recent years, the company has expanded into commercial vehicle manufacturing as part of a long-term diversification strategy.
Following the unveiling of its first bus prototypes at Busworld Europe 2023, HABAŞ has now moved into serial production at its newly established manufacturing complex in Manisa.
Approximately 10,000 Commercial Vehicles per Year
Speaking during Busworld Türkiye 2026, HABAŞ Export Sales Manager Uluğ Aktunç stated that the Manisa facility currently has an annual production capacity of approximately 10,000 commercial vehicles, consisting of:
- 1,500 buses
- 8,500 trucks
According to Aktunç, the factory manufactures not only vehicle assemblies but also a significant portion of structural vehicle components in-house, providing greater production flexibility, quality control and cost efficiency.
Export Markets at the Center of Growth Strategy
HABAŞ intends to serve both the Turkish market and international customers through its new production facility.
The company showcased both diesel and electric bus models during Busworld Türkiye 2026, underlining its ambition to expand into European and neighboring export markets while strengthening its presence in sustainable public transportation.

The launch of serial production places HABAŞ among Türkiye's emerging commercial vehicle manufacturers at a time when the country continues to expand its automotive production capabilities.
Industry observers view the investment as another step toward strengthening Türkiye's competitiveness in the European commercial vehicle sector through increased domestic production capacity and export-oriented manufacturing.
