Daimler Truck Raises 2026 Outlook as Strong North American Demand Boosts Performance

STUTTGART, GERMANY – According to the company's preliminary results, Daimler Truck now expects to deliver between 340,000 and 370,000 commercial vehicles during 2026, compared with its previous forecast of 330,000 to 360,000 units.
The company also increased its outlook for adjusted EBIT to €3.6–4.1 billion, while industrial revenue is now expected to reach €43–47 billion. Free cash flow from industrial operations has also been revised upward to €3.0–3.5 billion, reflecting improved profitability and stronger market conditions.
North America Drives Growth
The revised guidance is largely attributed to the continued strength of Trucks North America, where customer demand for heavy-duty trucks has remained resilient.
Daimler Truck increased its North American sales forecast to 160,000–180,000 units, up from the previous range of 150,000–170,000 units.
The company also raised the adjusted return on sales (ROS) expectation for the division to 9–11%, highlighting improved pricing, operational efficiency and favorable market dynamics.
Daimler Buses Faces Headwinds
While the truck business continues to outperform expectations, Daimler Truck adopted a more cautious outlook for its bus division.
The company lowered the Daimler Buses sales forecast to 20,000–25,000 units, citing weaker market conditions in Latin America and Mexico.
All other business segments remain broadly in line with previous expectations.
Full Q2 Results Scheduled for August 7
Daimler Truck emphasized that the published figures represent preliminary and unaudited second-quarter results.
The company's complete financial report for the second quarter of 2026 will be released on 7 August 2026.
Kamyonum Analysis
The upgraded outlook signals that the North American heavy-duty truck market remains considerably stronger than many analysts expected in early 2026.
For the global commercial vehicle industry, Daimler Truck's revised guidance suggests that freight demand and fleet investment in North America continue to support manufacturers despite ongoing economic uncertainty.
At the same time, the weaker outlook for Daimler Buses illustrates that regional market conditions remain uneven, particularly across Latin America.
