Seçsan Trailer's Manager Salih Yiğit shared many details about their company and products with our readers. Stating that they can also produce custom-made products according to customers' requests, Yiğit said that; "We produce products that make a big impact in Turkiye." Not only in the domestic market, but also in exports, Yiğit mentioned that they are present in the market, listing some of the countries they export to as Iran, Iraq, and Russia.
Starting his speech by talking about the establishment and products of Seçsan Trailers, Yiğit said that: “In the 2000s, we used to have our trailers manufactured on a contract basis and sold them abroad. In 2010, we started our own production. Also, since we are heavy haulers, we produce more valuable products in terms of both appearance and durability. Our customers keep choosing us. Among our products, our flagship can be said to be the double-acting train trailer that can extend up to 33 meters and is used to carry the bodies of wind turbines. It has been in production for four years and provides great convenience to our customers during loading. This trailer, which can extend up to 33 meters and has a height of 70 centimeters, allows the transportation of loads without any issues. The system here uses eight axles, seven of which are hydraulic and one is fixed, and local or European axles can be used. Currently, we are producing two more of these products in our factory. Although these trailers come at very high prices from Europe, we manufacture and offer them to our customers at prices suitable for the conditions in Turkiye.”
Continuing his speech by mentioning their other products, Yiğit stated that: “We also have another product, called 2.55, which is a hydraulic side-opening trailer that can be hydraulically extended up to 3 meters to load the cargo, and then return to 2.55 meters when the cargo is unloaded, making it easy to travel on highways and weigh stations. We also produce special products with 3, 4, 5, and 6 axles. Additionally, we are involved in projects that require customized work. Due to our location in the container area, we produce extendable and non-extendable fork trailers. These are also available for our customers’ use.”
“We Are Also Present in Exports”
Stating that they manufacture like a tailor based on customers’ requests, Yiğit said that: “We produce products that make a strong impression in Turkiye. Our users are also highly satisfied. We do not only sell to the Turkish market but also export to countries such as Iraq, Iran, and Russia.”
Stating that they first use the products themselves before offering them to customers, Yiğit continued his words by saying that: “In other words, we are the guarantee of the job. Additionally, we provide remote control training to those who receive vehicles with hydraulic and steering axles. This is also very important. The responsibility does not end with us; the user is also crucial. The operator must be skilled. We need conscious individuals in this industry. Since we are on both sides of the table, we can identify shortcomings. Our drivers and the lead operators we refer to as 'remote controllers' need to undergo proper training.”
“Heavy Transportation Sector Is Currently at It’s Peak”
Stating that the heavy haulage sector is currently at its peak in Turkiye, Yiğit said that: “Whatever exists in Europe also exists here. If 50 percent of these trailers are manufactured in Europe and imported, the other 50 percent comes from production in Turkiye. However, right now, the missing element is the human factor.”
Stating that “We know what is needed, and we never take on projects we cannot handle,” Yiğit continued as follows: “We should only do what we are capable of doing. What matters is not high profits but customer satisfaction.”
Explaining that in heavy transportation, the standards are set by the roads, Yiğit said that Turkiye’s roads are neither suitable for these trailers nor are the trailers suitable for the roads. For this reason, some transports are carried out by bypassing certain routes—using roads that even the highways authority is unaware of.
Reiterating the importance of training in the rest of his speech, Yiğit said that: “Chambers of commerce, driver associations, and universities must now take initiative in this area. There should be at least a two-year training program for drivers. We need to train young operators and promote the profession. I also take my hat off to our women—while many of our young men shy away, these women show the courage to take the wheel on roads across the world. I feel proud when I see them.”
Concluding his remarks, Yiğit said that: “Our goal is to grow a bit more and offer even higher-quality products to our customers. Right now, Turkiye is a hub for manufacturing. Production is being carried out for every corner of the world.”
