MERCEDES-BENZ TURK LEADS THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY WITH ITS ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
Mercedes-Benz Turk, which aims to achieve zero CO2 emissions during production until 2039 within the scope of the "Green Goals" program and continues its studies and investments in this direction, leads the automotive sector in this field as well.
Mercedes-Benz Turk successfully completed the transition audit to ISO 14001:2015 in 2018 and received the Environmental Management System Certificate. Before the necessary investments are made, the Energy Management Team, consisting of experts who have the certificates required by the relevant legal regulation, determined the points that need improvement and efficiency potentials with the regular reports they prepared. The Hoşdere Bus Factory and Aksaray Truck Factory of Mercedes-Benz Turk were also entitled to receive the Zero Waste certificate from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization in 2021, after the studies and investments they carried out in the field of environment.
82 tons less CO2 emission to the atmosphere in 2021 at Hoşdere Bus Factory
Thanks to the solar power plant, Hoşdere Bus Factory released 82 tons less CO2 into the atmosphere in 2021. The Hoşdere Bus Factory, which saves 25 percent of energy thanks to its automation system, also recycled 96 percent of the 7,300 tons of waste generated during production. As a result of cleaning with ozone in the cafeteria, water consumption decreased by approximately 50 percent.

Aksaray Truck Factory is the production facility with the largest green area in its region. In 2021, 601 MWh of electrical energy and 2,335 MWh of natural gas savings were achieved in the factory, and 693 tons of less CO2 was emitted to the nature. In the factory, where 98 percent of the 5,323 tons of waste generated during production is recycled, 200 thousand m3 less water was spent as a result of the works carried out to reduce water consumption and ensure sustainability. In addition, with the commissioning of the waste collection unit in Aksaray Mercedes-Benz Turk lodgings, wastes are separated into 6 categories as plastic, paper, glass, metal, waste batteries and waste electronic goods. Wastes collected according to their categories are sent to the municipality's recycling facilities.

The company, which received the accreditation of the "Material Laboratory", "Surface Protection Laboratory" and "Environmental Laboratory" within the body of Hoşdere Bus Factory in 2012, had the technical and administrative qualifications of its laboratories approved by the authorized institutions according to international criteria. Mercedes-Benz Turk, which was the best-selling intercity bus brand in Turkey last year, continues to export the buses produced at its Hoşdere Bus Factory without slowing down. Exporting 239 buses to 17 countries in May, Mercedes-Benz Türk became the company that exported the most buses in the first 5 months of 2022, with a total of 856 buses.

Mercedes-Benz Turk has exported the buses it produces to 16 European countries, including Portugal, Poland, Croatia and Italy, as well as to the United States. Portugal, which was the country to which the most buses were exported with 163 units in May, was followed by Poland with 15 units, while 12 buses were exported to Croatia and Italy each.
Exporting buses to 21 different countries in the first 4 months of the year, Mercedes-Benz Turk also exported to Norway, Slovenia and Croatia in May. Along with these countries, the buses produced at Hoşdere Bus Factory were exported to a total of 24 countries in the January-May period of 2022.

SCANIA TAKES FULL APPROVAL FOR AUTONOMOUS TEST DRIVE
Scania received the necessary approval for driverless transport operations. Scania autonomous driving vehicles will now be able to test drive all highways between the Swedish cities of Södertälje and Jönköping.
In the first place, Scania obtained the permit to operate three autonomous trucks on a part of the highway between Nyköping city, 70 kilometers south from Scania's main production center Södertälje in February 2021, and with the success it achieved, Scania expanded the distance of the tests and the parameters. Scania autonomous vehicles will be able to use all kinds of local and national roads between Södertälje and the city of Jönköping, about 300 kilometers away.
According to the statements made by Scania officials, a total of 3 vehicles will proceed autonomously from the exit gate to the destination. During these tests, a driver will be at the wheel watching the system, but will not intervene except in emergencies. Vehicles will be able to reach the maximum speed limit of 80 km / h on the highway. Data collected from the tests is planned to be developed to address the widest possible range of scenarios that Scania may encounter with autonomous vehicles. Thus, it is aimed to start more operations in other parts of Europe.
