According to the Turkish Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Health, vehicles, goods and passengers coming from Iran are not allowed by Turkish customs authorities to enter Turkey. Turkish authorities started to allow Turkish trucks which are waiting in Iran territory to enter Turkish customs zone. There is however a 14 days quarantine for drivers/people suspected of having contracted the corona virus in Turkish border gates.

Turkish authorities allow trucks to use Turkish border gates which are open to Iran for bilateral transport operation and for transit transport operation via Iran. But trucks do not enter Iran due to above mentioned temporary restrictions.

Most of trucks are changing their route from Iran to Georgia, using Sarp, Aktas and Türkgözü border crossing points. Those routes are alternatives to carry goods to countries in Central Asia through Georgia.

Turkish authorities strongly recommend transport companies to use above mentioned border gates which are open to Georgia for their transport operations.
