IMPORTANT STEP FROM FORD TRUCKS TOWARDS A ZERO EMISSIONS FUTURE: HYDROGEN-
POWERED RESEARCH ENGINE IS FIRED

Continuing its R&D studies and investments with the vision of "Creating value with the most efficient
transportation solutions" for more than 60 years in the heavy commercial vehicle industry, Ford
Trucks has signed off on another pioneering project in Turkey. He designed the Hydrogen-powered
Internal Combustion Single-Cylinder Research Engine and started its development work by
successfully performing the first ignition of the engine.

This successful test is an important step for Ford Trucks, which leads the transportation technologies
of the future in line with its long-term sustainability goals, to reach its zero emission target in 2040.
Ford Trucks, the global brand of Ford Otosan, which stands out with its engineering experience and
60 years of heritage in the heavy commercial vehicle industry, completed the design of the Internal
Combustion Single-Cylinder Research Engine for heavy commercial vehicles using hydrogen fuel,
carried out the first engine starting and ignition activity and started engine development tests. Thus,
for the first time within the brand, a product in which hydrogen was used as fuel began to be
developed and a scaled prototype of this product was tested.

With this development, Ford Trucks has taken another important step in reaching its goal of zero
emissions in heavy commercial vehicles in 2040, in line with its sustainability strategy, after the fully
electric truck it introduced last year.

Ford Trucks Pioneers on Sustainable Transportation Technologies

Ford Trucks, which has been serving in the heavy commercial vehicle industry for more than 60 years
with the aim of "being a companion who cares about its customers and improves their business", has started a great transformation journey with zero emission, connected and autonomous technologies
with the "Generation F movement". It introduced its 100% electric truck, the apple of the eye of this
journey, at the International Commercial Vehicle Fair (IAA) held in Hannover in 2022. The electric
truck, completely developed in Turkey from design to testing processes; reflects the connected and
autonomous driving technologies that Ford Otosan has put forward with its engineering capabilities,
technology production and R&D power. The truck to be produced at the Eskişehir Factory will be on
the roads of the world in 2024.

MEANINGFUL PROJECT FROM TEMSA FOR 08 MARCH INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

TEMSA launched the “You First” project on the occasion of 08 March International Women's Day. Within the scope of the project carried out with the cooperation of Sabancı Foundation, CarrefourSA and Adana Chamber of Hairdressers, Beauty Salon Operators and Manicurists, 100 hairdressers and care specialists brought to the region from Adana and Mersin provided service to earthquake victims in Hatay in the self-care tent set up. Approximately 1500 women benefited from the personal care services they wished free of charge in the cabins reserved for them.

“You Will Be Well First So We Can Heal As a Society”

Making evaluations on the subject; Ebru Ersan, Corporate Communications Manager of TEMSA said that; “As a company that experienced earthquakes in Adana, in their own home, we are among the closest witnesses of the material and moral damage caused by the disaster. Clothing, temporary shelter, food, of course, are important and priority aid topics. But besides all this, the greatest need of our earthquake victims is to know and feel that we are with them. It may not have occurred to many people, but a month has passed since the earthquakes and our women here could not do any personal care during this time. With this project we realized on International Women's Day, we actually wanted to tell our women: We are there for you in all your needs. We are here until the wounds are healed. You will be well first, you will find morale first so that we can heal as a society. That's why we designed our project with the slogan "You First". In the tent we set up, we served 1500 women in just one day. Our 100 experts from Adana and Mersin voluntarily became a part of this project. Sabancı Foundation and CarrefourSA have always been with us since the idea stage. We would like to express our gratitude to all institutions and individuals who contributed to this project. We are happy that this project has contributed even a little bit to the healing of the wounds in the region!

BURSA HEAVY VEHICLES’ GENERAL MANAGER AHMET UĞUR: THE INDUSTRY WILL CONTINUE TO GROW

Ahmet Uğur, General Manager of Bursa Heavy Vehicles, which provides sales and after-sales services of the DAF brand, with the most important mission of maximum customer satisfaction in sales and after sales, evaluated the situation of the logistics sector during and after the pandemic, and talked about the roles of Bursa Heavy Vehicles and DAF in the sector.

Emphasizing that the pandemic has affected almost all sectors, especially the logistics sector, and that the global balances have changed, Bursa Heavy Vehicles General Manager Ahmet Uğur said that; Logistics sector has became one of the most adapting industries. First of all, it has been proven that one of the most important links of the supply chain is logistics service. It was a well-known fact that consumption, and therefore production, was of no importance without logistics, but it was not so noticeable. This situation has now changed. This process also had a positive effect on growth. Due to the increase in the importance of storage, transportation and distribution axis, significant increases continue to be experienced in both the number of equipment and the number of qualified employees. Our companies will continue to grow and increase the number of vehicles and equipment, especially in land transportation, which is the most important carrier power of our country.

“DAF Will Be Seen Frequently In Our Country”

Underlining that the DAF brand has increased its image in the sector with the right strategies and investments during and after the pandemic period, Uğur said that; “Our transporters know the DAF brand and always want to buy, especially in terms of durability and image. By winning the 2022 truck of the year award with the NGD series produced especially as new generation vehicles, it added a new one to its numerous awards in Europe and showed its strength in the sector. DAF has been operating in our country since 2016 with its own structure. Therefore, our customers have been able to reach the DAF brand much faster since that year. Only in recent years, the political and economic developments and the effect of the pandemic in our country since 2016 have had a negative impact on product supply. The decrease in vehicle supply due to the pandemic, the very rapid depletion of products and the stocked working gave way to front sales, and the total number of heavy vehicles sold decreased due to production. However, in the upcoming period, we want to close this gap by supplying more vehicles than a year ago. We can say that DAF's new vehicles, especially in terms of safety and efficiency, will be seen frequently on our country's highways as of the second half of the year.”

“The Principles We Take As The Basis Have Never Changed”

Stating that Bursa Heavy Vehicles has continued its services by not giving up on the principle and that it is based on maximum customer satisfaction during the pandemic period, Uğur said that; “As Bursa Heavy Vehicles family, the issues we have taken as a basis have not changed since the first step in service in order to ensure the satisfaction of our customers, and even advanced by putting it on top of it. Our main goals are to identify the needs of our customers, to offer the right solutions for these needs, to follow the developments with them by being with them constantly, to make our relations sustainable and to make our customers feel satisfied, happy and safe. Before, during and after the pandemic, these have never changed and will not change.”

Standing out in the field of global transportation, IVECO is an international leader in the development, production and marketing of light, medium class and heavy commercial vehicles. IVECO is sensitive to women's issues and continues to raise awareness on this issue.

This is a very important achievement not only for Karsan but also for the Turkish automotive industry.”

Market Nearly Doubled In One Year!

According to the 2022 3.5-8 tons European Minibus Market Report published by Wim Chatrou - CME Solutions, Karsan e-JEST has become the leader of the electric minibus market with a share of 28 percent, as in the last two years. Indicating that the electric minibus market in Europe grew by 84% in 2022 compared to the previous year, Karsan CEO Okan Baş said that; “The market volume has nearly doubled in just one year. In the growing market, we closed another year as the leader in which the competitors started to gain strength, and for the third year in a row, we became the leader of the European electric minibus market with e-JEST. This is a very important achievement not only for Karsan but also for the Turkish automotive industry. Karsan e-JEST stands out as a very strong player in markets such as France, Romania, Portugal, Bulgaria and Spain.”

Emphasizing that Karsan e-JEST is one of the 4 electric minibuses in the European market, Okan Baş said that; “E-JEST, which we launched at the end of 2018 and put on the roads in 2019, continues to increase its success rate every year. In many European countries, people travel safely with e-JESTs. This is the biggest indicator of Karsan's high experience, advanced R&D and qualified employee power. In addition to e-JEST, our 8-meter-long e-ATAK model became the leader of the electric midibus segment in Europe for the second time in 2022. I believe that all Karsan models will maintain the same strong success in 2023.”

TURKISH SPARE PARTS INDUSTRY TURNED ALL CRISES INTO OPPORTUNITIES IN 2022!

“IF WE IMPROVE THE AVAILABILITY OF SPARE PARTS, OUR EXPORTS WILL DOUBLE”

MOTOR AŞİN, one of the largest spare parts companies in our country, made a comprehensive evaluation by focusing on the spare parts and automotive supply market in 2022. While raw material, chip crisis and logistics problems affected the entire automotive industry in a global context, Turkey increased its export level by turning the crises into opportunities.

Indicating that, as industry stakeholders, they have proven to the whole world that there are no components that our country cannot produce or spare parts that cannot be supplied; Saim Aşçı, CEO of MOTOR AŞİN, said that; “If we expand our parts portfolio and increase product availability, our spare parts industry will easily double its exports of approximately 10 billion dollars in 2023. In summary, 2022, which was negative for Europe, was positive for our country. We, as MOTOR AŞİN, have provided a serious foreign currency inflow to our country by selling 15 thousand different spare parts and 1.5 million to more than 70 countries.

MOTOR AŞİN, which has been operating in the vehicle spare parts and after-sales sector for 52 years, stated that the Turkish market, which has shown a successful performance in product supply, has grown with a significant acceleration in 2022. While it was noted that the automotive industry, which was challenging for European countries in the atmosphere of global recession, was positive in the field of spare parts in our country, automotive giant countries such as Germany preferred Turkey for components such as cable harnesses that they could not supply from Ukraine and Russia.

On the other hand, Russia, which has been embargoed by many countries, has turned to the Turkish market, as well as the Middle East and Far East countries, for the need for spare parts to be used in automotive production and maintenance. Stating that if the logistics operations and product diversity increase availability, the Turkish spare parts and supply market can double its exports, which is approximately 10 billion dollars; Saim Aşçı, CEO of MOTOR AŞİN said that; “We increased it by 20. By making sales in more than 70 countries with 15 thousand types and 1.5 million spare parts, we have provided a serious foreign currency inflow to our country. We have achieved significant gains, especially with our exports to the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Balkan countries. 70% of our exports went through our neighboring countries. Due to the intense demand of Russia due to the war and embargo, we have added many spare parts positions that are not in our product range, but are valid in their markets, into our portfolio. We exported by adding at least 2000-3000 separate references to our stocks, excluding the parts positions we sell in Russia. Thanks to Turkey's production capacity and logistics capabilities, it has proven once again that there are no components or parts that it cannot produce.”

“It's Easy to Lose the Russian Market We Won Hardly”

Continuing his words by referring to the Lale suitcase trade in the nineties, Aşçı underlined the need for Turkish companies to maintain a high level of commercial reliability and said that; “Russia is not the Russia of the nineties, and today Turkey has very serious rivals in the Far East and the Middle East. In this respect, it is easy for us to lose this market that we have won hard due to our geopolitical position. For all these reasons, the sale of spare parts with high added value and advanced technology is of great importance for the country's economy. We anticipate that we will gain a solid-based trade bond with this country by using digital platforms by improving ourselves and managing operational and logistics processes quickly and professionally.”

TURKEY'S FIRST AND ONLY NATIONAL WOMEN'S MOTORCYCLE RACEER İLAYDA YAĞMUR YILMAZ
WILL CARRY ITS MOTORCYCLE WITH IVECO DAILY HI-MATIC.

Standing out in the field of global transportation, light, medium and heavy commercial vehicle
manufacturer IVECO became the supporter of İlayda Yağmur Yılmaz, the only national female

and world motorcycle races, IVECO will draw attention to women's struggle for survival.
Giving importance to sports and athletes, IVECO will show that it stands by women and its belief in
social goodness with this support.

İlayda will carry the motorcycle she will use in the race with the IVECO Daily Hi-Matic Panelvan with a
fully automatic transmission that she will also use. The Daily Hi-Matic, which can carry heavy loads
that allows versatile use, but is light on its own, is being transformed into a sports caravan for İlayda.
When the special design of the Daily Hi-Matic, which does not end with counting features, is
completed, it can be used as a panel van, office, living area and motorcycle garage.

“The Apple of Our Country in This Sport”

Speaking about the support they gave to İlayda, IVECO Turkey General Manager Hakkı Işınak
expressed his thoughts on the subject by saying: “Ilayda's story has impressed us a lot. When he was
only 19 years old, the value of his efforts to make our country accepted in this sport in Europe and
the world cannot be measured. We provided our athlete with our IVECO Daily Hi-Matic Panel Van so
that he could easily take his bike to the races he will participate in. It is not that easy or cheap to
represent our country in these races. In addition to the opportunities of athletes like İlayda, the
support of sports-loving brands like us is very important. We want to continue to support İlayda in all
the races she will participate in, to the extent our own planning allows. İlayda';s first race of 2023 will
take place on April 30 in Italy. We look forward to it and wish him success in advance.
