WHAT ARE TRUCKERS DOING TO BECOME A FEDERATION?

Pointing out the importance of being under one roof, Kör invited all his colleagues to unite under the umbrella of the Federation.

“Both the Trouble and the Burden Are Ours!”

“We Presented a 23-Article Plan to the Turkish Grand National Assembly”

Stating that they established their federation in 2022, Kör explained the next process as follows; “We brought together the five associations required to form the federation. I have been a driver for 40 years, maybe I will leave the profession in a year or two, but we established our Federation with the thought that future generations will not experience the problems we have suffered. After all, both the trouble and the burden are ours! In this regard, we presented a 23-article plan to the Turkish Grand National Assembly in 2023, through our Amasya Deputy Hasan Çilez. Of course, when the elections and the February 6 earthquake disaster intervened in this process, the process took longer. However, I hope that the investigations will be completed and you will get back to us as soon as possible.”

“Our Profession Should Be Included in the Aggravated Work Branch”

“Driving License Penalty Points Should Be Removed, Departments Should Be Opened in Universities…”

Continuing his words by talking about the content of the 23 articles and some of their articles, Kör explained them as follows; “One of them is that the profession is considered an aggravated line of work. In other words, just as a miner receives a high pension when he retires, we presented this offer thinking that we are working under aggravated conditions and should have the same opportunities. The other is the removal of driving license penalty points. We work in accordance with the European Harmonization Law, but there are no penalty points in the European Harmonization Law. Now, when an officer friend of ours receives a three-month retrospective report from our tachograph, perhaps 100 points are suddenly deleted. If their driver's license is lost, this can be extremely distressing for our friends who earn their living through their profession. One of our items is about opening a department for our profession in universities and opening vocational schools. Being a driver is a profession that will never disappear in the world, it is currently ranked as 16th. We wish it to reach higher levels. A friend of ours, who is currently in high school, would probably study and become a driver if there was a department related to driving. We also want to introduce our young people to the profession.”

“Sales Rights Should Be Given to K Documents”

“Documents Should be Freezable”

Stating that the articles also contain the right to sell the K documents, Kör said that; “A taxi driver can sell his license plate when he quits his job, but when we quit our job, our license is wasted. In other words, our document should at least have a value of at least 50 years. We also included the freezing of K documents among our articles.”

“After the Election, We Will Build Our Garage with the Support of the Municipality”

Stating that he has been working in Amasya for about 40 years, Kör stated that they also work on a garage in the city and continued his words as follows; “We had places before, but as the city grew, that area remained in the city. Then we started to go out of the city, but that place somehow disappeared. We have a place we are currently negotiating with, we have met with the land owner. Of course, we will need our Municipality again in the construction of this place. From now on, we will build that garage with whoever will be the next Chairman. I am sure that whichever Chairman comes will find a solution to this.”

“Our Greatest Loss is Our Lack of Unity”

Saying that “Our greatest loss is our lack of unity”, Kör continued his words as follows; “Everyone wants to do something in their own way or in their own province. Then, when you say let's unite, other things come into play. For example, most of them are after profit. This is the case in most cooperatives and associations; there will be an income and the source of the income will be in you. As such, a profit begins to be made from this.”

“We Want the Solution on the Table”

Indicating that they are against all kinds of protesting, Kör said that; “Our business throughout Turkey is decreasing in these months. Unfortunately, other sounds may occur. We have not, and will not have, any requests regarding shutting off the engine. We want the whole solution on the table. As a federation, we are against such actions.”
